Our team at Sergio Ruiz & Son, Inc. recently completed a top-notch concrete adding sideway, entrance, ADA space and ramp customer's commercial in Marietta, GA

2 Concrete sidewalk and prom finish. 1st sideway is in front of the building with the ADA Ramp and 2nd sideway is on the side of the building where the employees enter.

Firm, stable, slip-resistant surface (no gravel or loose pavers unless ADA-rated).

Purpose:

Create an accessible route and space for individuals with mobility challenges — including parking, turning, and entry zones.

Typical scope:

Accessible parking space:

8 ft wide minimum (van accessible: 11 ft wide with a 5 ft access aisle).

Level surface (≤ 2% slope in any direction).

Proper signage (van-accessible, reserved marking).

Durable striping and signage per ADAAG and Georgia Building Code.

Access aisle / landing area:

Connects parking to ramp or sidewalk.

Minimum 5 ft width, same slope limits as above.

Accessible route:

Continuous, unobstructed path to building entrance (may include ramp or sidewalk).

Purpose:

Provide a safe, sloped pathway between different elevations (like from driveway to door or parking to sidewalk).

Design and slope:

Max slope: 1:12 (1 inch rise per 12 inches run).

Landings: Level area at top and bottom, min. 60" long.

Width:

Surface:

Firm, stable, slip-resistant (textured broom finish or composite decking).

Edge protection:

2" minimum curb prevent wheel roll-off.
